Catching Up

Where do I begin since it's been so long? I think I will just write a random list of occurrences and thoughts. They are in no particular order, but should get everything caught up.

  • Nicolas lost his first tooth the second week of school.
  • School for Nicolas is going OK. We are still working out some "kinks" as his teacher puts it. He has some social skills issues and difficulty handling his unmet expectations. Basically, he gets mad when he doesn't get his way. Go figure. The problem is how he handles his frustration (he wants to leave the classroom) and figuring out why he's getting confused and angry in the first place.
  • Peter is doing well in 2nd grade. I'm battling an absolutely ridiculous waste of instructional time currently in his schedule, though. More on that another time.
  • Caroline has had some potty training regression. She really started too soon. But, what am I supposed to do when she takes her diaper off and decides to go all by herself? Enough on this issue.
  • I taught a Bible study to our ladies group yesterday that I think went very well. God is so awesome!
  • I got a part-time gig writing a white paper. More details to come on Monday...for me, not you. No offense.
  • I spend way too much time on Facebook, but have had tremendous fun reconnecting with long lost friends.
  • My day today will be spent catching up on housework and, hopefully, starting a new refinishing project.

OK...so I guess I don't have anything else to add.

If you want to be inspired, though, I recommend reading m friend, Michael's blog, Running With Cancer. I read some of his entries before finishing my own. My paltry excuses seem utterly stupid when I consider his battle. Certainly, God works in each of our lives according to our ability and always for His glory. I would never wish cancer on anyone. Yet, I can't help thinking...even hoping...my faith could withstand such a challenge. Maybe not that challenge...but I want that kind of faith. Thanks, Mike for sharing your faith and your daily effort to "run toward the prize that is Christ Jesus."
